Rising Star

A company that is newly founded or in the early-growth stage and needs more funding to grow. It accurately states its mission and vision and is part of a very competitive market or very innovative solution. The startup has the potential to have a positive impact on a global scale and generate substantial change for underserved communities or areas. There is a high potential risk that the impact will not occur as expected because it is part of a very competitive market and relatively young. Therefore, there is a chance it won't achieve the desired effects due to external competition.

Provides a great sound experience to users while remaining completely safe, present and aware of their surroundings. Aims to destigmatize hearing loss by marketing a device that targets normal hearing first, and later on, strategically targets people with hearing loss.

Developing a hearable device that is more comfortable to wear than in-ear devices (i.e. in-ear headphones and hearing aids), and that sits outside of the ear. The user will avoid discomfort and causing ear infections by wearing a device that has been moved away from the ear canal, and the user can be completely aware of their surroundings at all times, regardless of their hearing profile. Through a patented mechanical system, transducer selection and real-time DSP, Auricle targets daily hearable users, urban commuters and hearing aid users with the best sound quality for bone conduction to date with a key differentiator: an out-of-ear design combined with in-built real-time audio capabilities, for situational amplified awareness, hearing amplification and more.

To challenge the assumption that personal audio technology has to take over your hearing (and cover your ears) in order to be high quality. Auricle is the first hearable that is able to play high-quality augmented audio and keep users aware and included, rather than isolated and socially detached. The ultimate mission is to deliver this new innovation potential to different hearing profiles, including people with hearing loss.

Seed
Both regular headphone users and people with a hearing loss who don't use hearing aids, who are currently predicted to be about 5% of the world's population.
